Project 2: Controlled Lighting
Exploring Neon Light
[FUJIFILM XT5]

Concept

At night, 6th avenue lights up in washes of neon light. Each storefront and bar has its own  atmosphere curated by the colored light. In this series, I wanted to explore the stories of light, color, and pose as we made our way down the avenue.  The photos were taken with settings around these ballparks: 35-55mm, f4, 1/15, 400 iso.

Edits

Editing was done in Adobe Lightroom. The color and saturation were already where I wanted them, so all I had to do was adjust exposure, white points, and clarity. For the orange photos, I did some color grading to push some green into the shadows, and muted out the colors to get the retro vibe I was shooting for.
