Concept
This piece in inspired by Swiss Style graphic design. I was drawn to the clean, streamlined design, and creative implementation of typrography into posters and advertisements. While I didn’t draw from the Swiss Style’s use of photography collage, I opted to modernize the style with the simplified solid shape graphics that are more popular in the minimalist designs of today.
My design is inspired by the loneliness epidemic declared by the US Surgeon General in 2023. Mental heath is a critical aspect of human wellbeing, and the isolating power that loneliness weilds is incredible. These posters are desgined to bring awareness to the universality of mental health struggles and loneliness, and the universal typographic style of Swiss graphic design seemed like a perfect match.
